Spring boulders & tides

Following the already accounted winter months, the dry weather settled with, action moving to Sintra. All the local fanatics enjoying the boulders; a matter of taking advantage of conditions – which, unlike other venues around, get finer, more consistent whenever short days are gone and hot temperatures are out. Adiabatic bla, bla, bla…Weird, let’s call it Foehn effect! It’s driven by the north wind, rises sea air, cooling things down, misting it up and, asking for warm layers in the hills when everyone’s already toasting in the beach.

Weeks of trying and sending new problems, opening a new sector with good potential and final injuries to sum seven months of rock to waves activity. All good, apart from a period of hard mobility, recovering the back from a bad landing, knee from a falling tree and shoulders from too much paddling…Restarting in between climbing efforts and surfing the coast. Next, summer trips. Hope you enjoy yours!

Queimada Serrana V8/+ (FA), Serra da Estrela. Congratulations to the organizers of Pedra do Urso 2014 for such fun meeting and, Pena for the sight of this problem in which he spend some rainy hours brushing. We finished the job the day after with top out cleanings and sent. A Major line still waiting for the harder and even better seat start. Ph. Teresa Sousa

Anyone is happy when on the move again…after two months recovering from a poor landing.
